(10/23/1852 Reimes-7/11/1931 Paris) (France)
   Painter, illustrator, etcher, lithographer, and caricaturist. Studied at the Parisian Academy under J. de la Chevreuse, J. Carpeaux, and A. Gill. Associated with artists like Degas and Manet, as well as leading writers of the day. Although much of his published works are political or humorous in nature, he also treated the relations of the sexes.
